About the role
SALCO PRECISION ENGINEERING LIMITED is seeking an enthusiastic apprentice to join their experienced engineering team and develop a career in CNC machining and precision engineering. This role offers practical training in the operation, setting, and basic programming of CNC milling machines, alongside an understanding of the complete manufacturing process. The apprentice will learn to read engineering drawings, use CAD/CAM software, set up workpieces, select and change cutting tools, monitor machining operations, inspect finished components, and maintain health and safety standards. The position combines workplace training with one day per week at college, leading to a Level 3 Engineering Machine Technician qualification and potential future employment.
Entry requirements
- GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or above. Teamwork, Reliability, Attention to detail.
