About the role

This is a 12-month, government-funded Level 3 Extended Diploma in Dental Nursing, delivered by City & Guilds. The apprenticeship offers hands-on experience assisting dentists, sterilizing and preparing equipment, handling reception duties, and supporting the patient experience. Daily tasks include providing chair-side support, managing patient queries, processing payments, booking appointments, maintaining patient records, and ensuring a clean and well-stocked dental environment. The role emphasizes communication, attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, and teamwork. Upon completion, career progression opportunities include moving into management roles, or further training to become a dental therapist, hygienist, or orthodontic therapist.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Mathematics at grade 4 or above. Strong communication, attention to detail, organisation, problem-solving, analytical, teamwork, initiative, and non-judgemental skills are essential.
