About the role

Join Crake and Mallon as an Apprentice Funeral Service Operative and play a vital role supporting bereaved families in the Teesside community. Working alongside our dedicated operations team, you will gain hands-on experience in funeral operations, vehicle care, and customer service while building a rewarding, lifelong career. Duties include assisting in the preparation and dressing of coffins, carrying out removals of the deceased, assisting with Coroners' removals, driving funeral vehicles, and meeting bereaved families. You will also be responsible for the daily cleaning and maintenance of funeral vehicles and participating in the out-of-hours on-call rota. This apprenticeship requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, customer care skills, teamwork, patience, and physical fitness. A full, clean UK driving licence is essential, and emotional strength is also a key requirement. Candidates must be 21 years of age or older due to insurance requirements for driving company vehicles. Upon successful completion, a full-time permanent role may be offered with opportunities for career progression within the business.
