About the role

This is a 12-month government-funded Level 3 Extended Diploma apprenticeship in Dental Nursing, delivered by City & Guilds. The role involves assisting dentists chair-side, sterilising and preparing equipment, handling reception duties, managing patient records, supporting patient wellbeing, and managing stock. The apprenticeship offers hands-on experience within a dental practice, working alongside experienced staff.

Key responsibilities include providing efficient and reliable chair-side support, greeting patients, dealing with queries, taking payments, booking appointments, sterilising equipment, recording patient information, and maintaining cleanliness. The apprenticeship aims to develop skills in IT, organisation, problem-solving, teamwork, and initiative.

Upon completion, there are significant career progression opportunities, including moving into roles like team manager or dental practice manager. Further training can lead to becoming a dental therapist, dental hygienist, or orthodontic therapist. Earnings can increase with experience and further qualifications.
