About the role

This is a 12-month government-funded Level 3 Extended Diploma apprenticeship in Dental Nursing, accredited by City & Guilds. The role involves assisting dentists chair-side, sterilizing and preparing equipment, handling reception duties, and contributing to a positive patient experience. Daily tasks include maintaining patient records, ensuring patient comfort, cleaning dental areas, managing stock, and supporting the dental team in providing effective care. Upon completion, with experience, there are opportunities to progress into roles such as team manager, team leader, or dental practice manager. Further training could lead to becoming a dental therapist, dental hygienist, or orthodontic therapist.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or above. Excellent communication, organisation, customer care, problem-solving, administrative, and team-working skills are desired, along with patience and a non-judgemental attitude towards patient care.
