About the role

This Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner (EYLP) Apprenticeship is designed for proactive and influential practitioners who work directly with children. These professionals are responsible for the operational lead for the care, learning, and development of young children, and for leading and supporting the practice of others. Duties include providing care, supporting learning and development (especially speech, language, and communication), leading daily routines, promoting best practices in observation, assessment, and planning, ensuring diversity and equality, complying with safeguarding legislation, reflecting on and building practice through professional enquiry and action research, and leading other practitioners.

Essential requirements include GCSE English Language at grade 4 or above, and a Level 3 Early Years Educator Qualification with a pass. The apprenticeship also emphasizes the development of strong communication skills, attention to detail, organisation skills, customer care, problem-solving, presentation, administrative, and number skills, as well as teamwork, creativity, initiative, being non-judgmental, and patience.

Additional requirements for UK/EU residents include at least 3 years of residency in the UK/EU. Visa holders must ensure their visa does not expire before the apprenticeship end date. GCSEs in English and maths at Grade C (4) or above are required, or the ability to achieve Level 2 English and maths during the programme. A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification is mandatory; health and social care qualifications are not considered full and relevant for this role.

Upon successful completion, apprentices will be well-prepared for progression into Deputy Manager roles, with clear pathways to Nursery Manager. The apprenticeship cultivates leadership, management, and operational skills essential for increased responsibility within early years settings. The company, ANGELIC WINGS CHILDCARE LTD, aims to enhance the Early Years experience through simplified and affordable childcare services in positive environments, fostering a community of collaboration and care for confident young children.
