About the role

This is a 12-month government-funded apprenticeship for a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Dental Nursing, delivered by City & Guilds. The apprentice will work alongside dentists, gaining practical experience in chair-side support, sterilising and preparing equipment, reception duties, patient support, and managing stock. The role involves assisting dentists with procedures, handling patient queries, taking payments, booking appointments, and maintaining patient records. Successful candidates will need to pass a DBS check and have a Hepatitis B vaccination. This apprenticeship offers a clear pathway to career progression, with opportunities to move into roles such as team manager, dental practice manager, or further training to become a dental therapist, dental hygienist, or orthodontic therapist.

Entry requirements

  • GCSEs in English and Maths at grade 4 or above are desired. Strong communication, organisation, customer care, problem-solving, administrative, and teamwork skills are essential, along with patience and a non-judgemental approach to patient care.
