Apprentice Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician – light vehicle Level 3

About the role

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about cars and wants to begin a career in the motor trade while gaining a recognised qualification. As an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced technicians and learn the skills needed to inspect, service, maintain, and repair a wide range of vehicles. Duties include assisting technicians with vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repairs, carrying out basic mechanical tasks under supervision, learning to diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment, maintaining a clean and safe workshop environment, following health and safety procedures, keeping accurate records of work completed, and attending college or training sessions as part of the apprenticeship programme. Successful completion may lead to a full-time role and potential to become an MOT tester.

Entry requirements

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, teamwork, a desire to learn, good timekeeping, reliability, and a genuine interest in mechanics are essential.
