About the role

This apprenticeship offers a 12-month government-funded course leading to a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Dental Nursing, accredited by City & Guilds. As an apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience in a dental practice, working alongside experienced professionals. Key responsibilities include providing chair-side support to dentists, managing reception duties, sterilizing and preparing equipment, assisting with patient queries, taking payments, booking appointments, maintaining patient records, and ensuring patient wellbeing. The role also involves managing stock and contributing to effective patient care. Upon completion, opportunities for career progression include roles such as team manager, dental practice manager, or further training to become a dental therapist, dental hygienist, or orthodontic therapist.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Mathematics at grade 4 or above. Strong communication, problem-solving, and administrative skills are essential, alongside patience and a creative approach.
