Maintenance Apprentice

About the role

Extons Foods is seeking a motivated Maintenance Apprentice to join their engineering and maintenance team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop essential skills while ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficient operation of modern production and processing equipment. As a Maintenance Apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience working alongside skilled engineers, contributing to planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance activities. You will assist in fault finding, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and learn to repair, replace, and maintain components. The apprenticeship also involves inspecting and testing production machinery, supporting installations, and adhering to strict engineering procedures and health and safety requirements. You will maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with the engineering and production teams, gaining an understanding of food manufacturing needs and the importance of minimizing downtime. Entry requirements

• GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or above. Strong communication, organisation, teamwork skills, initiative, and physical fitness are desired.
