About the role
This is an apprenticeship opportunity at Daisy Chain Nursery in Basingstoke for a Level 3 Nursery Apprentice. The role involves creating a warm, friendly, and stimulating environment for children aged 2 months to 5 years. Key responsibilities include providing all aspects of childcare under supervision, such as washing, changing, and feeding. The apprentice will also act as a key worker, observing and planning for a small group of children, assisting with their emotional needs, and ensuring the safeguarding and welfare of children. The nursery is part of a small local chain. Training will be provided towards a Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship Standard, including functional skills in English and maths, and an end-point assessment. Training will be delivered through work-based visits and dedicated study time.
Entry requirements
- GCSE English (Grade 4 or C and above), GCSE Maths (Grade 4 or C and above desired). Strong communication, attention to detail, organisation, customer care, teamwork, initiative, patience, and creativity are essential.
