About the role

Beechwood Park School, a recognized preparatory school, is seeking an IT Support Technician Apprentice to join their IT team. This role is crucial for ensuring the school's IT systems operate smoothly and efficiently. The apprentice will provide comprehensive technical support for various devices including workstations, laptops, printers, and audio-visual equipment. Responsibilities include managing IT helpdesk queries, maintaining IT equipment inventory, assisting with network infrastructure, and performing routine administration tasks such as data backups and software updates. The apprentice will also support staff and pupils with IT setup and training, and assist in preparing IT suites for lessons. Essential skills include strong IT proficiency with Microsoft products and Google Workspace, awareness of cybersecurity, and excellent communication and organizational abilities. Beneficial experience includes working in education, with iSAMS, or with non-Windows environments.

Entry requirements

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject, GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above). Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level in a similar subject.
