About the role
Gateway Electronic Components Ltd is offering a Level 3 Machining Technician Apprenticeship at Innovation House in Nantwich. This apprenticeship provides comprehensive training in operating CNC milling machines, including setup and basic programming. Apprentices will assist in machining ferrite components to tight tolerances, support finishing processes for high-quality surface finishes, and use inspection equipment to ensure parts meet specifications. The role involves understanding engineering drawings, assisting with machine maintenance, workshop organisation, and adhering to health and safety procedures. As skills develop, apprentices will gradually take on more responsibility. A Level 2 Engineering Operative qualification is desired, along with strong communication, IT, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. Any prior exposure to engineering, machining, or CAD/CAM is a bonus but not essential.
