About the role

This apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to become a Patient Services Co-ordinator at Drs Ansari, Carradus & Farndell, located at Longton Health Centre in Preston. You will be responsible for receiving, assisting, and directing patients to the appropriate services or healthcare professionals in a courteous and efficient manner. A key aspect of the role is to positively promote the practice to ensure continued growth in patient list size. You will also provide essential administrative support to the practice team.

Key duties include gaining a thorough understanding of all practice procedures and working in accordance with written protocols. You will be involved in sorting and distributing incoming mail, filing correspondence and patient records both manually and electronically, processing online blood test forms, and managing outgoing mail. Patient interaction via telephone, email, and text message will also be a significant part of your role. This is a great chance to develop valuable administrative and patient care skills within a busy GP practice.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths at A*-C/Grade 9-4 or equivalent. Strong communication, attention to detail, customer care, administrative, and team working skills are essential.
