About the role

This is a 12-month government-funded Level 3 Extended Diploma apprenticeship in dental nursing, provided by City & Guilds and delivered by Harriet Ellis Training Solutions Limited. The role involves providing chair-side support to dentists, assisting with patient care, and handling reception duties. Key responsibilities include sterilizing and preparing equipment, managing patient records, dealing with patient queries, taking payments, and booking appointments. The apprentice will gain hands-on experience in a practice setting and work alongside experienced professionals. Essential requirements include GCSEs in English and Maths at grade 4 or above, along with strong communication, customer care, administrative, and teamwork skills. The apprenticeship includes regular off-the-job training. Upon completion, there are opportunities for career progression into roles such as dental practice manager, dental therapist, dental hygienist, or orthodontic therapist. A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and Hepatitis B vaccination are required.
