About the role

The apprenticeship in dental nursing is a 12-month government-funded course by City & Guilds, a Level 3 Extended Diploma. Alongside your learning, your job role within the practice will entail assisting dentists, sterilising & preparing equipment, reception duties and supporting patient experience. Duties include providing efficient and reliable chair-side support, reception duties, dealing with patient queries, taking payments, booking appointments, sterilising and preparing equipment, recording patient records, supporting patients' wellbeing, cleaning dental areas, and managing stock. Successful candidates will also need to pass a DBS check and receive a Hepatitis B vaccine.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above. Desired skills include communication, organisation, customer care, problem-solving, administrative, and team working skills, along with patience and a non-judgemental attitude.
