About the role

This apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to train as a Dental Nurse. Over 12 months, you will gain a government-funded, City & Guilds Level 3 Extended Diploma in Dental Nursing. Your role within the practice will be hands-on, involving assisting dentists during procedures, sterilising and preparing equipment, managing reception duties, and contributing to a positive patient experience. You will learn to provide efficient and reliable chair-side support, handle patient queries, manage appointments, and maintain patient records. The apprenticeship also includes learning about stock management and ensuring a clean and safe dental environment. Upon completion and with further experience, career progression opportunities include roles such as team leader, dental practice manager, or further specialization as a dental therapist, dental hygienist, or orthodontic therapist. This role requires strong communication, organisational, customer care, and problem-solving skills, along with patience and a non-judgmental attitude.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above are desired.
