About the role

Embark on a 12-month government-funded apprenticeship as a Dental Nurse, leading to a Level 3 Extended Diploma accredited by City & Guilds. This role offers hands-on experience in a dental practice, working alongside dentists to provide essential support. Key responsibilities include chair-side assistance, sterilizing and preparing equipment, managing reception duties, handling patient queries, taking payments, booking appointments, and maintaining patient records. You will also contribute to patient well-being and the overall smooth operation of the practice, including stock management and cleaning. This position is ideal for individuals aged 19 and above with a keen interest in healthcare and a desire to build a career in dentistry. The apprenticeship includes functional skills training if required and on-the-job training at the dental surgery. Successful candidates will need to pass a DBS check and receive a Hepatitis B vaccination. Upon completion, career progression opportunities include roles such as Dental Practice Manager, Dental Therapist, Dental Hygienist, or Orthodontic Therapist.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above. Strong communication, organisation, customer care, problem-solving, administrative, and team working skills are desired. Patience and a non-judgemental approach are essential.
