About the role

This is a 12-month government-funded Level 3 Extended Diploma apprenticeship in dental nursing. The role involves assisting dentists, sterilising equipment, performing reception duties, and supporting the patient experience. Key responsibilities include chair-side assistance, managing patient queries, taking payments, booking appointments, sterilising instruments, maintaining patient records, and ensuring patient well-being. The apprenticeship is delivered by City & Guilds, with training taking place at the dental surgery. Functional skills training is also provided if required. Applicants must be 19 or above due to insurance restrictions and will need to pass a DBS check and obtain a Hepatitis B vaccine.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or above, strong communication, organisation, customer care, problem-solving, administrative, and team working skills. Patience and a non-judgmental approach are essential.
