About the role

This 12-month government-funded apprenticeship, in partnership with City & Guilds, leads to a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Dental Nursing. The role involves assisting dentists, sterilizing and preparing equipment, performing reception duties, and enhancing the patient experience. Key responsibilities include providing chair-side support, managing appointments, handling patient queries, maintaining patient records, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental practice. You will also be involved in stock management and contributing to effective patient care. This position requires individuals aged 19 or above due to insurance restrictions. Upon completion, career progression opportunities include roles such as team manager, team leader, or dental practice manager. Further training can lead to becoming a dental therapist, dental hygienist, or orthodontic therapist.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or above. Strong communication, organizational, customer care, problem-solving, administrative, and team working skills are desired. Patience and a non-judgemental attitude are essential.
