About the role

This apprenticeship offers a 12-month government-funded course leading to a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Dental Nursing, accredited by City & Guilds. As an apprentice dental nurse, you will gain hands-on experience assisting dentists with patient care, sterilizing and preparing equipment, managing reception duties, and supporting the overall patient experience. The role involves a variety of tasks, including administrative duties, patient communication, appointment booking, stock management, and maintaining a clean and safe dental environment. Upon successful completion, there are significant career progression opportunities, including roles such as team manager, dental practice manager, or further training to become a dental therapist, dental hygienist, or orthodontic therapist.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above. Strong communication, organizational, customer care, problem-solving, administrative, and teamwork skills are essential, along with patience and a non-judgmental approach to patient care.
