About the role

This is a 12-month government-funded Level 3 Extended Diploma apprenticeship in Dental Nursing, provided by City & Guilds. As a dental nurse apprentice, you will assist dentists, sterilise equipment, manage reception duties, and support the patient experience. Key responsibilities include chair-side assistance, patient interaction, taking payments, booking appointments, maintaining patient records, managing stock, and ensuring a positive patient journey. This role requires excellent communication, organisational, customer care, problem-solving, and administrative skills, along with a patient and non-judgemental approach. You will also need to be patient and possess strong team-working abilities. Applicants must be 19 or above due to insurance restrictions. Successful candidates will need to pass a DBS check and receive a Hepatitis B vaccination. Career progression opportunities include moving into roles such as team manager or dental practice manager, or further training to become a dental therapist, dental hygienist, or orthodontic therapist.
