About the role

This is a 12-month government-funded apprenticeship for an Apprentice Dental Nurse, leading to a Level 3 Extended Diploma awarded by City & Guilds. The role involves assisting dentists chair-side, sterilising and preparing equipment, managing reception duties, handling patient queries and payments, booking appointments, recording patient records, and supporting patient wellbeing. You will also be responsible for cleaning dental areas and managing stock. The apprenticeship provides a comprehensive foundation in dental nursing, with a strong emphasis on practical skills and patient care.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above. Strong communication, organisation, customer care, problem-solving, administrative, and teamwork skills are essential. Patience and a non-judgmental attitude are also key.
