About the role

This apprenticeship offers a 12-month government-funded course leading to a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Dental Nursing, accredited by City & Guilds. The role involves providing essential support to dentists, including chair-side assistance, sterilisation and preparation of equipment, and reception duties. You will also be responsible for managing patient queries, taking payments, booking appointments, and maintaining patient records. A key aspect of the role is supporting patient wellbeing and ensuring a positive dental experience. Other duties include managing stock of supplies and cleaning dental areas. The apprenticeship is suitable for individuals with strong communication, organisational, and customer care skills, who are patient, non-judgmental, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English (Grade 4) and GCSE Maths (Grade 4) desired. Strong communication, organisation, customer care, problem-solving, administrative, and teamwork skills are essential.
