About the role

This is a Level 3 government-funded apprenticeship in Dental Nursing offered by City & Guilds, a Level 3 Extended Diploma. The apprenticeship lasts for 12 months. The role involves assisting dentists, sterilizing and preparing equipment, performing reception duties, and supporting the overall patient experience. Key duties include providing chair-side support, managing reception tasks like answering phones and greeting patients, handling patient queries and payments, booking appointments, recording patient records, supporting patient wellbeing, cleaning dental areas, and managing stock. Successful candidates will need to pass a DBS check and receive a Hepatitis B vaccination.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above. Desired skills include communication, organisation, customer care, problem-solving, administrative, and teamwork skills, along with patience and a non-judgmental attitude towards patient care.
