About the role

Embark on a career in dental nursing with this 12-month, government-funded apprenticeship. You will work towards a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Dental Nursing, accredited by City & Guilds. Your responsibilities will include providing chair-side support to dentists, sterilising and preparing equipment, managing reception duties, handling patient queries, taking payments, booking appointments, and ensuring a positive patient experience. You will also be involved in maintaining patient records, managing stock, and contributing to the overall efficient operation of the dental practice.

This apprenticeship offers excellent career progression opportunities. With experience, you could advance to roles such as team manager, team leader, or dental practice manager. Further training could lead to becoming a dental therapist, dental hygienist, or orthodontic therapist, allowing you to specialize in different aspects of dental care.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or above. Strong communication, organisational, customer care, problem-solving, administrative, and teamwork skills are essential. Patience and a non-judgemental attitude are also required.
