About the role

This is a government-funded Level 3 Extended Diploma apprenticeship in Dental Nursing, lasting 12 months. The role involves assisting dentists, sterilising and preparing equipment, performing reception duties, and supporting the overall patient experience. Key responsibilities include providing chair-side support, managing patient queries, taking payments, booking appointments, maintaining patient records, and ensuring the cleanliness and stock management of the dental surgery. The apprenticeship is delivered by City & Guilds and Harriet Ellis Training Solutions Limited, with training taking place at the dental surgery. Upon completion, there are opportunities for career progression into roles such as team leader, dental practice manager, dental therapist, dental hygienist, or orthodontic therapist.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above. Strong communication, organisational, customer care, problem-solving, administrative, and teamwork skills are essential. Patience and a non-judgmental attitude are also required.
