About the role

This is a Footwear Production Apprenticeship opportunity with Dr. Martens at their Made in England Factory in Wollaston, Northamptonshire. Apprentices will gain hands-on experience in all aspects of footwear manufacturing, from clicking (cutting skins) and closing (sewing uppers) to lasting (shaping the shoe) and shoe room finishing. The apprenticeship integrates traditional skills with modern technology and offers a supportive, fast-paced learning environment. The program is designed to provide comprehensive training in footwear production, including tanning processes, sizing, construction methods, and health and safety. The apprenticeship runs for 15 months, with one day of study per month at Northampton College. Upon successful completion, apprentices will receive a government-accredited Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship qualification in Footwear Manufacturing. There is potential for a permanent role within the factory for successful graduates.

  • GCSE Maths and English: 4 or above (Essential). Team working, Creative, Initiative, Non judgemental, Patience, Eye for detail, Good communicator, Problem solving.
