About the role

This apprenticeship offers a 12-month, government-funded Level 3 Extended Diploma in Dental Nursing provided by City & Guilds. As an apprentice dental nurse, you will gain hands-on experience assisting dentists, sterilizing and preparing equipment, performing reception duties, and enhancing the patient experience. The role involves chair-side support, managing patient queries, processing payments, booking appointments, maintaining patient records, ensuring patient wellbeing, and managing stock. Upon successful completion, career progression opportunities include roles such as team manager, team leader, or dental practice manager. Further training can lead to becoming a dental therapist, dental hygienist, or orthodontic therapist.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above are desired. Strong communication, organisation, customer care, problem-solving, administrative, and team working skills are essential, along with patience and a non-judgmental approach to patient care.
